About this category

A bold call is a running back that a ranker placed at least five spots away from the FantasyPros consensus for that week, higher or lower. Agreeing with the consensus is the default, so these departures are where a paid ranking either earns its keep or costs you. We judge each call by where the player actually finished among the week's running backs: a call is right when the finish landed closer to the ranker's spot than to the consensus spot.

Because every call is a head-to-head against the consensus, 50% is break-even. A ranker above 50% gained you ground by disagreeing; below 50%, following the consensus would have done better. Positions are counted within the shared player pool, which is fixed before kickoff, and a ranker needs at least 50 calls before appearing here. Fifty calls is still a modest sample, so treat small gaps as noise until the season adds more.

What is a bold call?
A player a ranker placed at least five spots away from the FantasyPros consensus for that week. It's right when the player's actual finish was closer to the ranker's spot than to the consensus spot.
Why are running back bold calls hard?
Running back production swings on touchdowns and game script, so even well-reasoned departures from the consensus often miss in a single week.
